Catalan wines obtained international recognition through the work of Miguel Torres and a plethora of wines suited to International palates. Back in the 70s the likes of Sangre de Toro, Vina Esmeralda and Coronas conquered the world and put Catalan wines on the map.
It is now the time for a new wave of winemakers to make more modern and adventurous wines from the same region. This time, the focus is on indigenous grapes and minimal intervention. Toni Carbo at Mas Candi is at the forefront of minimal intervention, natural wines and pure expression of the grapes.
